Bricking it.
Today , 1944. Enough respect to that!
Frankly if I had been there, I would have been absolutely bricking it but then I guess I would have gone with the atmosphere on the landing craft and thought, 'Come on then Jerry, let's have it!'
What a scary prospect to get this detail. I am grateful that all I am doing is driving to an office to do a day's work.

I'm with you there, my friend. My dad missed the war by about a year as he was too young to join up but soon found himself first in Palestine and then Malaya where he spent a few years of his youth being shot at. I make no comment about the rights and wrongs of these particular conflicts but I know my father is a much braver man than I'll ever be and as for those poor men on D-Day....
