Two minutes.

Today (well, technically yesterday) I strolled into the city centre to join in the Remembrance parade. It's 90 years to the day on Tuesday since the end of the first world war, so this was the closest Sunday. It's always enjoyable in a strange way and it's good seeing people in uniform all doing their bit. It was pretty cold and by the end of it, the rain was soaking us all to the bones.

The two minutes' silence were started and closed by the deep boom of a canon - rather cool.

This is my slightly grainy picture of the event.

I very much like that this memorial is done.
What a wonderful way to remember the peoples and events of that war.

We had Veterans Day here on Monday. It is always interesting the emotions evoked by people who are willing to give their lives for their country.
