Handy!

Through London today and there's a big old tube strike. Buses are the civilised alternative but the usual stop is a road currently being resurfaced. Here's a handy poster from that bus stop...

Lucky my sister is over here visiting. She takes the tube daily. Hope it's worked out by the time she goes back. :)

Hope so too! It was very civilised here in fact and the bus stop was 150 yards away. 600 people waiting for it though.

I'm on the third one that went past .

Sat on it right now, like a sardine in a tin headed for Kings Cross.

Nearby... that's descriptive. Would that be 'nearby' to the left or the right?

Out here in the big, wide open space of the Western (or mid-western) United States we don't use public transit to much. In fact you have to actually call the 'bus' to have it pick you up in my town.

Public transit is something that always intimidates me when I'm traveling.

But if the truckers (lorry drivers) all went on strike we'd be in a real fix.

Hey Can'

I'm a bit of a transit geek and all of your terminology was familiar.

Cool to call up the bus! Feel free to send any hefty truck pics!
