My local pub about 91 years ago.

This is The Rhubarb Tavern, my local pub here in BS5.

The shot was sent by a pal (Jack) and was taken circa 1920, some 52 years before I was born and a very long time before I came to call it my local.

Check out the sheer amount of hats! I wonder what these chaps were off to do, perhaps a day out to Weston Super Mare, or a day out to watch the gee gee's?

All good stuff.

I remember visiting my great-aunt in Bristol (Air Balloon Road - how great an address is that?) and I think she claimed the oldest pub in England is in Bristol and it's called ... Hole in the Wall maybe? Is that true? Or am i imagining it?
